China Merchants Steam Navigation Co., founded already in 1872 and primarily active in river and coastal shipping, survived the post-WW2 revolution, being renamed China People's Shipping Co. Its branch in Hong Kong kept the old name. However, a good deal of the company's staff and ships moved with the Nationalist regime to Taiwan, where CMSNC continued under the old name as a Taiwanese-run company involved with international shipping. The brochure shown below was issued by this company.
