Golden West Airlines was formed in 1969 through the merger of Aero Commuter
(which had recently acquired Catalina Air Lines), Cable Commuter Airlines and
Skymark Airlines. The Golden West name had been purchased by Aero Commuter
from the original Golden West Airlines, which had ceased operations early in 1969.

Golden West Airlines survived until 1983.
