Mid-1940s photos of a Northeast DC-3 at Houlton Airport, Maine. Originally owned by the city of
Houlton, the airport became the Houlton Army Airbase during WW2, important for ferrying bombers
to Europe. It is now the Houlton International Airport. Some of the buildings, including the
control tower and hangars, remain from the war, as well as the ruins of the POW camps, all now
open to visitors.
