To Burns & Laird Lines.

The Tiger (1,389 grt, 275 ft. long) was built in 1906 for the Duke Line (Dublin & Glasgow Sailing & Steam Packet Co.)
as the Duke of Montrose. She was taken over by G. & J. Burns (one of the predecessors of Burns & Laird) in 1908
and renamed Tiger and again in 1929 Lairdsforest. In 1931 she was transferred to British & Irish Steam Packet Co.,
another Coast Lines (owners of Burns & Laird) company, receiving yet another name, Lady Louth.
After a fatal fire in 1934 she was sent to the breakers.

The small photo in the brochure actually shows the Tiger when still the Duke of Montrose.
The same photo is in "Burns and Laird" by Colin Campbell and Roy Fenton, showing her with the
yellow funnel colours of the Duke Line. Apparently, the photo in the brochure has been retouched to give her
the impression of being a Burns & Laird liner; funnels being white and red with black tops.
