Sterling Airways was founded in 1962 and became one of the largest charter airlines in the world in the 1970s. It operated just one scheduled route, between Copenhagen and Luxembourg, opened in 1989. The airline went bankrupt in 1993, but reappeared as Sterling European Airlines in 1994. |
